Before 11 September, one message to your MP could help stop this Bill.

Disabled and terminally ill people are once again being put at risk. The previous assisted suicide Bill fell when the last parliamentary session ended. Now Lauren Edwards MP has reintroduced it. MPs are due to debate it on Friday 11 September.
With your help, we can stop it.
For Not Dead Yet UK, this is not an abstract policy debate. It is about our lives. Many terminally ill people are already disabled, or will become so. They will have to live — or die — with the consequences of this law.
Why this Bill is unsafe
Even MPs who are not opposed to assisted suicide in principle need to understand why this specific Bill is so dangerous:
Choice is not genuine without real alternatives. A decision to die cannot be considered free when someone cannot access the social care, accessible housing or support they need to live with dignity.
Palliative and social care are already in crisis. Parliament should ensure everyone has access to good care before considering such a profound change in the law.
Coercion can be almost impossible to detect. Pressure may be subtle or unintended. People may also feel they are a burden on family, friends or society.
The safeguards are not strong enough. Medical and professional bodies raised serious concerns during scrutiny of the previous Bill. The legislation still does not guarantee that unmet care and support needs will be identified and addressed.
The Parliament Acts could limit further scrutiny. Because this Bill closely repeats the previous one, it could potentially become law without the agreement of the House of Lords if the Commons passes it again.
Every MP matters
The previous Bill passed the Commons by just 23 votes: 314 to 291. If everyone else votes the same way, only 12 MPs changing sides would defeat it. We must also make sure that MPs who opposed the previous Bill turn up and vote against this one.

If you can do more, please ask your MP for a meeting or phone call. They need to hear directly why so many disabled and terminally ill people are so concerned about this Bill.
Disabled people need support to live — not a law that exposes us to greater pressure and danger. Please take action today.
